Knut Hjalmar Leonard Hammarskjöld (Swedish: [ˈjǎlmar ˈhâmːarˌɧœld]; 4 February 1862 – 12 October 1953) was a Swedish politician and scholar who served as the Prime Minister of Sweden from 1914 to 1917. He was a member of the Riksdag from 1923 to 1938 in the first chamber. Hammarskjöld led Sweden's government during most of the First World War, and maintained the nation's neutrality in that conflict. He was ideologically conservative, although he was never officially a member of any political party. Read more on Wikipedia
