Rio Haryanto (born 22 January 1993) is an Indonesian businessman and former racing driver who competed at 12 Formula One Grands Prix, all in 2016. He remains Indonesia's only Formula One competitor as well as the first Muslim driver in the series. Born and raised in Surakarta, Central Java, Haryanto began his career in karting, winning multiple continental championships before progressing to junior formulae in 2008. He won his first title at the Formula BMW Pacific Championship in 2009 with Meritus.
